A Mommy Monday: Hands-On Experience & Organzation

My daughter has been begging me to have a party for the last couple of weeks.  She is very persistent so I knew it was a necessity to check it off our list.  Mission? "Do it yourself" calzones for a hands-on learning experience and creating an organized snack pack for entertaining fun!  Goal? To create an environment of hands-on learning and organization at a "soak it up like a sponge" age.

The "big kid" (aka adult) prepped all the fillings for the calzones.  Left to right, back to front: guacamole, mixed greens, cheddar cheese, feta cheese, chicken, ham, black olives, artichoke hearts, mushrooms. yellow peppers.

Sprouts Farmers Market pizza dough rolled out in individual pieces and fillings ready to be destroyed.

Aren't they presh?!  A little custom design on each of them to remember who's was who's.  And just because it was fun!

And yes, the hands-on calzone experience was great for the big kids too!  Pretty sure this one was loaded with ALL fillings!

Snack packs are a success!  Well contained and kept them entertained while watching a movie.Photos by Marcus Edwards Photography

If you're a momma (or pappa), I hope this adds some ideas to your repertoire of kid activities.

And to all HAIR & MAKEUP ENTHUSIASTS, even though this is about food, I hope you find inspiration... Remember, anytime something is new to us, we truly are learning as a child.  How about hands-on hair experience with client/stylist? How about a "Pin Pack" with various hair pins and bobby pins you use for hairstyling?  Let you're imagination soar...
