UpCycle: Wedding Dress Re-Invention
About a year and a half ago while shopping for an event client, I came across an old 1980's wedding dress. Totally not what I needed for that event but boy did it catch my eye. As soon as I saw it, I knew there was potential. The store was getting rid of the dresses so I scored it for free! Since then, it has been in a bag in my old studio, my room, my garage... it's traveled around patiently awaiting for some TLC.
I finally had time and inspiration for it in February. Here is the process:
Finished product. Top taken completely off, wrap around top added so you can wear this dress various ways. Ruffles cinched up, accentuated with removable fabric flowers. Fascinator created with old sleeve of the dress and a fabric flower. Special thank you to Kyle Ann of That's Sew Cha Cha for making the vision come to life!
