Mommy Monday: Nostalgic Bubblegum Party
Since my daughter Rhey was of an age to talk and ask for gum, I would always respond, "when you are four years old." I'm not sure why I decided that was the appropriate age and answer but I had to be a mom of my word! So as her fourth birthday drew near, we decided together on her birthday theme. A Bubblegum Birthday Party!

As a practical Mom, I chose birthday colors we were decorating her room in so the decorations did not go to waste.

I also wanted to give the kids table a whimsical "Alice In Wonderland" tea party feel.

This was the outdoor table just for the kids. The tablecloth was a piece of material from Hobby Lobby. All the linen, plates and vases were from a local thrift store. The yoyos, bubbles and playdoh are party favor packs from Wal-Mart. As for the "Bubblegum To Go Boxes", the boxes and labels came from Michaels {I created the label design from a provided template} and the bubblegum from Wal-Mart.

The food table was a big hit. The table cloth, linen, stacked tea cups and silver tea pot came from a local thrift store. The letters of her name will be a DIY blog coming soon to Style Me Sugar. The bubblegum machines came from
and I made them practical by filling them with gumballs, grapes and fruit salsa. The PomPoms came from

. I also took mason jars and filled them with different types of gum (Bubblegum, Razzles and Chiclets) to add to the Bubblegum flair.

The cake came from
and my mom made this cake. She is a wonderful cake designer so I left that up to her!
And last but not least, we needed to thank our friends and family. We got chalk as a gift (awesome!) Chalk is always great to have around at a party to create pictures with words!
